Train Journeys from Hell

Channel 4’s Dispatches programme, Train Journeys from Hell, was presented on Monday (21 March) by much loved actor Richard Wilson who encountered bizarre and inflated fare structures, commuters packed in like cattle, continual delays and cancellations, and poor levels of comfort in trains which, in some cases, should have been pensioned off years ago.  He was particularly shocked by services in the north where trains making local connections creaked and rattled even when moving slowly – which was all they could do.  “Terrible, and they’ve no new stock due”, he sympathised.  Surely Britain deserves a better rail system than this?  Read VoxOpp press release.
